A new home for well-being: the Maharishi AyurVeda Health Centre at MERU is open
MERU has always been a place to meditate and learn. Now it is also a place to receive authentic Ayurvedic treatment and care: our Maharishi AyurVeda Health Centre is open.
We opened its doors on 23 April, on the ground floor of our brand-new MERU Apartments building, which was itself inaugurated in February 2026 after years of dedicated team work. Like everything at MERU, the building is built according to Maharishi Vastu, a Vedic system of architecture in which the orientation, proportions, and placement of rooms all follow natural law. The aim is a settled, orderly environment that supports the people inside it, which is exactly what you want for a deep rest while you’re enjoying a treatment.

Set in the quiet of MERU and the De Meinweg National Park around it, the centre is a place to rest and experience Maharishi AyurVeda in its authentic form.
People joined us in person and online, from many different countries and time zones. Seeing familiar faces from around the world gave the day a family feeling.

The opening ceremony
Dr Richa Shrivastava and Lakshman Shrivastava welcomed everyone, and the Maharishi Vedic Pandits opened the centre with a traditional Vedic ceremony, or puja. In a puja, the pandits recite precise Vedic sounds, exact phonetic expressions that, in the Vedic tradition, purify and enliven a new space and invoke blessings for its success. It is the traditional way a new building is prepared before its work begins.

A message from Dr Tony Nader
Dr Tony Nader gave the inaugural address. Health, he said, does not begin in the body, it begins in consciousness. When the mind is settled and clear, the body follows. Real Ayurveda works from that inner balance outward, and he thanked Maharishi AyurVeda for bringing centres like this one closer to people.
Watch Dr Tony Nader’s full address:
Ayurveda is one of humanity’s great treasures. It is not simply a way of treating disease, it is a profound science of life: a science of balance, of prevention, of purification, rejuvenation and harmony with natural law.
– Dr Tony Nader
What we heard
Other leaders spoke too. Andreas Thrasy spoke about Ayurveda as a complete system of knowledge rather than a passing health trend, and why it matters to keep it authentic as it reaches more people. Dr Rainer Picha, a medical doctor and Minister of Health at of the Global Country of World Peace, talked about how Ayurveda can work alongside conventional medicine, practised carefully and consistently rather than as a quick fix. Dr Bruno Renzi described the plan for Europe: building a small number of genuinely high-quality centres instead of rushing to open many, so none of Ayurveda’s depth is lost along the way. And Dr Lothar Pirc reminded us that MERU was Maharishi’s own home for many years, and that Ayurveda is now recognised by the World Health Organization and growing quickly.
Blessings and good wishes also came from Prakash Shrivastava, Kirti Didi, Dr Neil Paterson, and Dr Girish Momaya, who thanked the Shrivastava family for the care they have put into this work.
One theme came through in all the talks: this centre marks a new chapter. It is part of a growing number of Maharishi AyurVeda centres opening across Europe and beyond, each bringing authentic Ayurveda closer to more people. Afterwards, everyone gathered for refreshments and gifts, and a guided tour of the new rooms.

What you’ll find here
The Health Centre is now open to the public. The best way to start is usually a consultation with one of our Maharishi AyurVeda practitioners (Vaidyas), which includes pulse diagnosis.
Pulse diagnosis is one of the oldest tools in Ayurveda. In a few minutes of feeling the pulse, an experienced Vaidya reads far more than a heart rate: the balance of your physiology, your natural tendencies, and any imbalances that may be quietly developing, often before you would notice anything yourself. From this, they form a clear picture of how your system is working, and recommend the treatments, food, and daily routine that will suit you best.
Consultations are led by experienced Ayurvedic physicians, including Dr Archana Munot, who is based in the Netherlands and has over ten years of experience, with a focus on prevention and restoring balance.
From there, your journey might be a single treatment, a series of treatments, or a full Panchakarma programme.
At MERU, everything is in one place. You sleep in Maharishi Vastu accommodation, and your meals are wholesome and vegetarian, prepared according to Ayurvedic principles. Your room, your meals, your treatments, and our courses all happen on the same quiet site in the national park, so there is no commuting and no rushing between places. That also means you can combine your treatments with one of our courses or retreats if you would like a fuller stay.
