Inauguration of the Academy & Residence Building

Have you been following the progress of the new MERU buildings and wondered what the first day inside would actually feel like?

Over the past few years, many of us have lived with construction updates, planning meetings, and seeing the building site slowly taking shape. So when 4 December finally arrived, it almost felt unreal, because we had seen it on paper for so many years.

We opened the doors of the new MERU Academy & Residence Building, Indra Bhavan.

Designed according to the principles of Maharishi Vastu architecture, the building is intended to create life-supporting effects through correct orientation, layout and proportion. And you can feel it when you’re in it — the order, the light, the quiet comfort. You really have to experience it to know what we mean.

The Inauguration Day

The inauguration brought together our community both online and in person. The Maharishi Vedic Pandits performed the Vastu Puja, a traditional ceremony that uses precise Vedic sounds to enliven harmony with natural law. These sounds are understood to spread as sound waves, bringing a settling and nourishing influence to the environment.

Afterwards we heard short reflections from Dr Tony Nader, several MERU leaders, and the project members who have been carrying this work for years. Then came a moment many of us had been waiting for: the first walkthrough of the building.

This was the moment when the building started to feel alive.

People walking through the corridors for the first time, looking around. Their faces radiating in bliss. Guests enjoying refreshments in the reception area. Fresh sheets and flowers already placed in the rooms, ready for the first group of guests. After so much preparation, seeing the spaces filled with people felt like the true beginning.

The building radiates a clear sense of order, both inside and out. Inside, one feels a settled atmosphere of calm, clarity and sattva (purity). The rooms themselves are comfortable and designed in a modern style, ideal for course participants and guests.

A Message from Dr Tony Nader

Dr Tony Nader shared a few words to mark the opening.

It is indeed a historic event. It is wonderful to be connected with everyone and to witness this rise of grand achievement in a physical form around the place where Maharishi has spent so many years, blessing that land, blessing that area. And from there, blessing the whole world with supreme knowledge and great achievements.

We feel infinitely grateful, and invite all who helped create this exceptional place in the world to celebrate with us.

Will you join us for the Winter Assembly?

The first public course to take place in the new Maharishi Vastu building will be the Winter Assembly from 30 December to 14 January. It’s a beautiful way to begin the new year: deep rest, twice-daily TM and TM Sidhi practice, time with the global TM community, and the quiet natural environment of MERU in winter.

Rooms are filling up, but there is still time to apply until 15 December, or until all remaining rooms are taken.

Winter Assembly at MERU is a special time: a silence retreat combined with the celebrations of Maharaja’s birthdays and inauguration of Maharishi’s 19th Year of Invincibility.

Thank you to everyone who joined, supported, and followed along.
This is just the beginning of a new phase for MERU Academy. We look forward to welcoming you here in the months ahead, whether you join us in person or online.
