Inauguration of the MERU apartments
and wellness centre

Six years ago, I joined the MERU Apartments project. At that point, there was no building in that area. Just green grass on the south side of MERU and a set of architectural drawings and beautiful apartment renders that felt ambitious, especially for the time we were living in.

It was 2020. Travel had stopped, costs were high, and many projects around the world were being paused or cancelled. More than once, very honestly, people told us, “You’ll never do it.” And of course, there were moments when I doubted it myself.

But eventually one person said yes. Then another. Then a few more. Slowly, momentum built.

The third Vastu ceremony

On 20 February 2026, we officially inaugurated the MERU Apartment Building. As a Maharishi Vastu building, this was the third Vastu ceremony connected with the project. After the Groundbreaking ceremony in July 2022 and the Foundation stone ceremony in June 2023, this inauguration marks the final step before residents move in.

These were the precise elements of the Vastu ceremony:

The day began at 8:35 in the morning. The entrance and Vastu fence were decorated with flowers and green leaves. The apartment residents, builders, and MERU community walked three times around the building. At 8:48, the entrance door ribbon was cut at the exact calculated Muhurta. Residents entered from the east. 

At 9:00, the main Vastu puja was performed by Maharishi Vedic Pandits. We heard speeches from Dr Tony Nader, other MERU leaders, and our generous supporters. As the final part of the ceremony, milk was boiled for the first time, marking the warming of the house. Pandits then blessed both the apartment and wellness units.

24 apartments and a Maharishi AyurVeda Health Centre

The new building includes 24 apartments, all built according to Maharishi Vastu, using high quality materials, careful orientation and auspicious building proportions. On the ground floor, the Maharishi AyurVeda Health Centre is preparing to open in April.

More than homes

What many people may not realise is that the MERU Apartment project did more than create homes. It was the first concrete step on the south side and helped create the financial and practical foundation that made the other two buildings possible. Without it, the south side of MERU might look very different today.

With this inauguration, phase two of the MERU master plan is complete.

What MERU offers

On the ground floor, the Maharishi AyurVeda Health Centre will offer consultations, Panchakarma treatments, Maharishi Light Therapy with Gems, Aroma therapy, and other Maharishi technologies of consciousness. 

At the same time, MERU Academy’s courses and retreats continue to take place next door. During the inauguration programme, we also shared an overview of the current courses, upcoming retreats, and a first glimpse of the new MERU website, which was launched just a few days ago!
