What to expect

Come join us for a restful and uplifting day at MERU! Enjoy Vedic recitations, the group programme, organic vegetarian meals, time with like minded people, and walks in pristine nature.

Maharishi spoke of Ganesh Chaturthi as the day of the elimination of obstacles. Speaking on this day in 2007, he said, “So today has been the day of clearing the passage, and the long journey from infinite diversity to absolute unity has been cut short. By whom have the obstacles been eliminated? By the Devata of purification, Ganapati … Ganapati is the Devata to eliminate all obstacles.”

In the human physiology, Dr Tony Nader, inspired and guided by Maharishi, found that Ganesh, or Ganapati, is represented in the structures that form the gateway to the brain: the pons, medulla, and cerebellum. This gateway controls all information coming in and going out of the brain, clearing away whatever is non-evolutionary. Enlivening this quality on this day supports a life free from obstacles through the year.

The recitations take place in Maharishi’s Peace Palace and usually last about 2–3 hours. In the morning and afternoon, you are welcome to join the group programme. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included for the day of participation.

Approximate flow of the day:

  • Breakfast and morning group programme
  • Free time for rest or walks in nature
  • Lunch
  • Vedic celebration
  • Afternoon group programme
  • Dinner

Accommodation at MERU is possible, subject to availability. You can inquire at hospitality@meru.international.

Joining for the day is also a nice opportunity to enjoy a relaxing Ayurveda treatment in our new Maharishi AyurVeda Health Centre.
