Terms and conditions for in-residence courses

Section A. Eligibility for event

If I am a Meditator, Sidha, or TM Teacher, I understand that eligibility for this event will be confirmed with the TM organization of my country and/or with Maharishi Vedic University Courses and Consultations B.V., Station 24, 6063 NP Vlodrop, the Netherlands.

If my eligibility cannot be confirmed for the event, I understand that my access may be revoked, and any fee I have paid will be refunded.

Section B. Photo, Video, Audio, Testimonial Release

I grant MERU and its affiliated organizations permission to record, use, and share photos, videos, audio recordings, and written or spoken testimonials of me for the purpose of marketing and promoting Maharishi Technologies of Consciousness programs and events.

These materials may be used in print publications, digital media, websites, social media, and other distribution channels.

I understand that my consent is voluntary and that I may withdraw it at any time by contacting MERU at events@meru.international.

If I withdraw my consent, MERU will stop using my personal data for future materials; however, materials already published or distributed before my withdrawal may continue to be used for practical reasons.

I waive any claim to compensation or ownership rights arising from the authorized use of these materials and any right to inspect or approve the finished materials, including written, audio, or video content in which my likeness or testimonial appears. I understand that MERU and its affiliated organizations may edit, adapt, or combine these materials as needed for authorized purposes. I release and hold harmless MERU and its affiliated organizations from all claims, demands, or causes of action arising from or related to this authorization and the use of my image, voice, or testimonial.

Section C. Conduct during event

I understand that by participating in this event, I am agreeing to engage with the faculty, course leaders, and other participants in a respectful manner.

I understand that disruptive behaviour after a warning from faculty, course leaders, or other members of MERU can result in my course access being revoked without a refund.

Section D. Refund policy

Course Fee

We understand that life happens and plans change.

• If you, as a consumer, apply for one of MERU’s courses that is exclusively meant for your personal use, you have a 14-day right of cancellation starting from the date that you are accepted to the course.
• Cancelling your application in writing within 14 days will result in a full refund of the course fee paid if the course has not yet started.
• If the course begins within 14 days of your acceptance to the course, and you still wish to cancel and receive a refund, you are agreeing that for the sessions you attend, you will be charged a proportion of the whole course fee and your refund will be less than the total amount.
• We will do what we can to ensure that you are satisfied with your experience of the course for which you have enrolled. However, you can still leave the course at any time after the start date and submit a refund request in writing, no later than 2 weeks after the course has ended. This request will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
• If a refund is granted, it will be prorated based on a variety of factors including the number of sessions attended, time elapsed since start date, and minus any processing fee (max 5%) from the bank/payment service, and minus any processing fee from MERU.

Meals provided by MERU

If MERU provides meals as part of your course, the same refund conditions apply as for your course fee.

• If you cancel within the 14-day withdrawal period and before the course has started, prepaid meal fees will be fully refunded.
• If the course begins within the 14-day period and you cancel after attending some sessions, refunds will be prorated based on meals already provided or prepared.
• No refunds will be issued for meals already consumed or missed.
Any applicable processing fees (up to 5%) from the bank, payment service, or MERU may be deducted from your refund.

Accommodation provided by MERU

If you book accommodation provided by MERU in its own accommodation facilities, the following refund rules apply:

• You may cancel your accommodation booking at any time before your scheduled arrival.
• Cancellations made up to 14 days before arrival are free of charge.
• Cancellations made between 14 and 7 days before arrival are subject to a fee of 75% of the total accommodation amount.
• Cancellations made between 7 days and 1 day before arrival are subject to a fee of 100% of the total amount.
• In the event of a no-arrival (no-show), the full accommodation amount will be charged and no refund will be issued.
• Refunds will be processed within a reasonable period after the cancellation is confirmed, minus any applicable processing fees (up to 5%) from the bank, payment service, or MERU.

Accommodation provided by a third party booked through MERU

• Third-party accommodation bookings are not refundable except in cases where we are able to reclaim the funds.
• If a refund is granted, it will be prorated based on a variety of factors including time elapsed since start date, usage, and minus any processing fee (max 5%) from the bank/payment service, and minus any processing fee from MERU.

Accommodation booked directly with a third party

 • If you arrange accommodation independently or through a third party, MERU is not responsible for any payments, cancellations, or refunds related to those arrangements.

You must contact the external provider directly to manage your reservation and any refund requests.

Section E. General provisions

If any provision or part of any provision of this Agreement is void or unenforceable, the remainder of this Agreement shall remain in full force and effect. If a provision turns out to be void or unenforceable, MERU shall have the right to replace such provision by a provision in the spirit of this agreement. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of The Netherlands. If a judgment by a Dutch court would not be fully enforceable in the country where an infraction of the Agreement has taken place, MERU may at its discretion choose to bring in a case for the relevant court in the country where the Agreement is considered to have been violated.
