The home of Cosmic living: Maharishi’s Peace Palace
The unique, fully wooden Peace Palace in the Netherlands was built in 1997 under Maharishi’s direct guidance to embody Vastu perfection and the principles of cosmic living. It became Maharishi’s residence and the spiritual heart of the global Transcendental Meditation Movement—a sacred home where countless courses, programs, and inspirations to create Heaven on Earth.
But today, this masterpiece is at risk
After nearly three decades, serious issues now threaten the building:
Structural shifting
Uneven floors, curved walls, and misaligned stairs due to gradual shifting of the timber structure
Window & door damage
Warped frames with poor insulation, mold, insect damage, and some windows no longer open
Ventilation problems
Old heating and poor airflow cause poor air quality and make the temperature hard to control
Roof & exterior decay
Leaking copper roof, cracked facade, and exposed wood are letting in water and causing structural wear
Outdated systems
Old wiring, pipes, and heating strained by floor movement waste energy and fall below modern standards
Safety concerns
Emergency exits no longer meet safety codes making
evacuation harder in case of fire or emergency

Why it matters
This was Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s own residence, where he lived, worked, and created for numerous programmes for the benefit of all humanity. As the capital of the Global Country of World Peace, it is where his vision of Heaven on Earth took form and where his legacy continues to inspire.
